Survival in Auschwitz

Survival in Auschwitz by Primo Levi

My rating:

5 stars—It was amazing.

My Thoughts:

If you are a regular follower of my blog, you know that this type of book is dear to me. Primo Levi is an author that everyone should read. This book is gripping and it’s important. Levi details his journey from Turin to the nightmare of life in a concentration camp. His writing goes deep into the human experience and truly takes the reader on a journey.

His books break my heart, while simultaneously making me a better person.

Description from Goodreads.com:

“In 1943, Primo Levi, a twenty-five-year-old chemist and "Italian citizen of Jewish race," was arrested by Italian fascists and deported from his native Turin to Auschwitz. Survival in Auschwitz is Levi's classic account of his ten months in the German death camp, a harrowing story of systematic cruelty and miraculous endurance. Remarkable for its simplicity, restraint, compassion, and even wit, Survival in Auschwitz remains a lasting testament to the indestructibility of the human spirit.”
