This is the next installment in the Peter Decker crime drama series. Honestly, I’m still on the fence about this series. I like the suspense. I like Peter’s character. But I absolutely hate his relationship with Rina. Something keeps me following along though and I’m going to read the next!

My Thoughts:

I have had many suggestions to read Lisa Gardner. I really enjoyed her style. This book was unique, suspenseful and a little dark. I really enjoyed it and I am now looking forward to reading more by Gardner. This book is part of a series following female detective DD Warren. Back to the beginning I go!

To The Edge

To The Edge by Cindy Gerard

Gerard is masterful at creating emotional characters. If you enjoy romantic suspense you need to be familiar with her work! I love her “Black Ops” series. This is the first in her “Bodyguards” series.

I loved these characters. The book was steamy, emotional and full of suspense.

Call After Midnight

Call After Midnight by Tess Gerritsen

Hmmmm….Gerritsen’s earlier work is definitely not up to the Rizzoli/Isles series I am so in love with.

This one was a cookie-cutter suspense, full of contrived characters and lacking in true suspense.

Overall, it was just an okay read, which is surprising from Gerritsen. The Rizzoli/Isles series is brilliant! If you are giving Gerritsen a try for the first time start with "The Surgeon."

Stuff

While I have been recovering from surgery I have been reading a lot of my personal comfort lit...romance. Even while preparing for surgery my mind was not able to focus on other genres. In a few months when I catch up with my posts (have so many lined up!) you will be seeing a few straight weeks of romance reviews. These books have definitely kept me entertained for the last few months! Love those HEA's! (Happily Ever Afters).

Also...any other music lovers out there? I love to find new songs! I wanted to share a favorite I found recently. Go out to spotify and listen! Love this guys voice. It is "Hey Hey, My My" by Battleme.

So my recovery has been--sleeping, romance reading, Netflix and Spotify. Busy girl.
