Milk and Honey
Milk and Honey by Faye Kellerman
This is the next installment in the Peter Decker crime drama series. Honestly, I’m still on the fence about this series. I like the suspense. I like Peter’s character. But I absolutely hate his relationship with Rina. Something keeps me following along though and I’m going to read the next!

Sacred and Profane
Sacred and Profane by Faye Kellerman
Second in Peter Decker series…and I was a little bored.
Peter is camping with Rina’s boys, when they come across skeletons. Although Peter is on vacation he is sucked into the case.
The mystery in the book is decent. That part of the storyline kept me reading. However, the relationship between Peter and Rina is incredibly hard to engage with. Their chemistry is completely flat. I was rooting for him to throw her over for someone else.
I am going to read the third and see if it gets better.

The Ritual Bath
The Ritual Bath by Faye Kellerman
Amazon.com Description:
Detective Peter Decker of the LAPD is stunned when he gets the report. Someone has shattered the sanctuary of a remote yeshiva community in the California hills with an unimaginable crime. One of the women was brutally raped as she returned from the mikvah, the bathhouse where the cleansing ritual is performed. The crime was called in by Rina Lazarus, and Decker is relieved to discover that she is a calm and intelligent witness. She is also the only one in the sheltered community willing to speak of this unspeakable violation. As Rina tries to steer Decker through the maze of religious laws, the two grow closer. But before they get to the bottom of this horrendous crime, revelations come to light that are so shocking, they threaten to come between the hard-nosed cop and the deeply religious woman with whom he has become irrevocably linked.
My Thoughts:
I enjoyed this first in the Peter Decker/Rina Lazarus series. I had a few issues staying with the story, but I’m going to give the next a try.
