Monday Recommendation List

Random list of 10 books Monday! I have read and enjoyed each of these enough to flag for a potential personal library purchase.

Be bold and just choose randomly, stick to your normal genre...or step outside of your normal
reading zone and try something you usually wouldn’t. You can look up the descriptions at Amazon.com, or search my blog for old posts by entering the title in the little search box in the top left-hand corner and clicking the magnifying glass.

  2. Love You More by Lisa Gardner

Thrill Me to Death

Thrill Me to Death by Roxanne St. Clair

Amazon Description:

“Max Roper never lets emotion get in the way of his job -- not since the tragic shooting that killed his fiancée's father. Now the former DEA agent is a Bullet Catcher, and he's managed to block out Cori's bitter goodbye -- and their sizzling passion. Those dangerous desires come back with a vengeance when Max is assigned to protect a recently widowed heiress: who turns out to be Cori. But Max must also discover his ex's dark secret...and they both know she can't hide anything from him. Her luxury lifestyle suggests that Cori has gone from being a trophy wife to a merry widow, but nothing could be further from the truth. Suspicious of her billionaire husband's sudden death, she hires a bodyguard. But her protector is the one man who can melt her every defense -- the one man she blames for her deepest sorrow, the one man whose six-feet four-inches of solid muscle ignites reckless passion in her. And as they close in on a killer who hides in plain view, their high-stakes affair could cost her everything...including her life”

My Thoughts:

I enjoy St. Clair books, but this one was mediocre for me. I was bored…

Face of Danger

Face of Danger by Roxanne St. Claire

Amazon Description:
“Private investigator Vivi Angelino loves living life on the edge, but stepping into the shoes of a movie starlet to bait a serial killer isn't just a thrill . . . it's a ticket to the big time for her fledgling security firm. That is, as long as a certain risk-averse FBI agent stays out of her way-and out of her fantasies.

Assistant Special Agent in Charge Colton Lang isn't above using his well-worn rulebook to stop Vivi's latest walk on the wild side. But when they learn her client is involved in something far more insidious than bad acting, Vivi and Colt must work together despite the electrifying attraction arcing between them. For each new clue is bringing them closer to a high-profile crime with a dark and deadly truth at its core . . . and a cold, calculating murderer with nothing left to lose.”

My Thoughts:

This is the next installment of the Guardian Angelino series. It is my favorite! Vivi and Lang have smoking chemistry. St. Claire shows her talent at character development here.

Shiver of Fear

Shiver of Fear by Roxanne St. Clair
This is the second book in the Guardian Angelino series. I really enjoyed the first (Edge of Sight). This one was decent, but didn’t compare to the previous.

The book starts where the first left off. After Devyn’s husband is murdered she is determined to find her birth mother. Digging into the past stirs up danger. Marc, the former FBI agent introduced in book one, is hired to find Devyn and get her out of the way.

The overall issue I had was the Devyn and Marc just didn’t click. I was interested in the plot, but didn’t feel like the characters were well-developed. The book was heavy on action, short on romance.

On to book three!

Edge of Sight

Edge of Sight by Roxanne St. Claire

New romantic suspense series alert! I picked up this title and really liked it. Found it is part of a series--the Guardian Angelinos series.

Zach is an alpha male with the wounds to heal. Emotional, action packed and steamy!

Adding this series to my list.
