Happy Monday!

Monday Recommendation List

Random list of 10 books Monday! I have read and enjoyed each of these enough to flag for a potential personal library purchase.

Be bold and just choose randomly, stick to your normal genre...or step outside of your normal
reading zone and try something you usually wouldn’t. You can look up the descriptions at Amazon.com, or search my blog for old posts by entering the title in the little search box in the top left-hand corner and clicking the magnifying glass.

This week-- 10 recommendations (in no particular order):

  1. Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela
  2. Don’t Know Much About the Bible by Kenneth Davis
  3. The Color Purple by Alice Walker
  4. The Help by Kathryn Stockett
  5. Heaven, Texas by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
  6. The Hathaway Series (Starts with Mine Til Midnight) by Lisa Kleypas
  7. Forbidden by Elizabeth Lowell
  8. A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer

Forbidden

Forbidden by Elizabeth Lowell

Description:
"They call her "Amber the Untouched" throughout the Disputed Lands -- a chaste, golden-haired beauty who fears the remarkable love that was prophesied at her birth . . . and the death that must inevitably follow. Now Duncan has come to her in darkness, as was foretold -- a wounded warrior with no memory, seared by passion's fire and irresistibly drawn to the innocent enchantress who divines truth with a touch. Their romance is legend in a time of war. But when Duncan's memory returns, he sees Amber as his enemy. Still, he cannot forsake the lover who healed his body and heart. And he will defy to the death the dread forces that have proclaimed their love . . ."

My Thoughts:
This is another favorite historical romance of mine. I have read this book at least 20 times over the years. And I have cried EVERY time! I absolutely love the characters and I am emotionally drawn into this story at a very deep level. The strength of the emotions experienced bleeds through the pages.

Forbidden

One of my favorite romances is “Forbidden” by Elizabeth Lowell. I love the intensity of this story. I’ll admit to reading it at least ten times over the years.

I have tried to get into other Lowell novels, but so far haven’t had any luck finding an equal to “Forbidden.” Anyone a Lowell fan that can give me a recommendation?

And if you are a romance enthusiast, be sure to read "Forbidden!"
