Hot Zone by Catherine Mann

Amanda is trapped in a building collapse with her nephew. Hugh, one of the rescuers, saves her. The beginning (the rescue) was really good. I was intrigued by the characters. However, then the story takes a turn into a black market kidnapping scheme. Here I got a little bored. Several plots start competing for attention. It gets more than a bit ridiculous.

Overall, a decent read.
