The
Road by Cormac McCarthy
I was in love with the cadence of this book, but I couldn’t stay engaged.
The post apocalyptic genre is not a favorite of mine, and this held true to
that. Although McCarthy is clearly very talented at storytelling, the plot was
just inconsistent and depressing for me.
In this story a Father and his young son walk through a deserted, burned out
America. They don’t know what fate has in store for them. In parts, very moving
McCarthy explores whether hope is eternal, or if it can be lost.
